"After the meteor fell something wicked happened to the Islands of Change." The inhabitants were adaptive and quick-witted, as the isles constantly transformed. Each day brought new challenges requiring rapid evolution.
Volcanic eruptions and tsunamis devastated the islands, killing most living creatures while unliving entities disintegrated. Survivors underwent unprecedented mutations. Following the lava's cooling, toxic green algae colonized the blackened surfaces. A tribe of Shadow infested this algae, creating contaminated sludge that dominated the ecosystem.
Nature provided balance when migrating bird eggs, buried beneath lava, miraculously survived and hatched into phoenixes. These fire-breathing creatures, resistant to heat and toxins, could burn away the algae. However, their poor flight ability made them vulnerable to electric eels. The ecosystem gradually stabilized through these interconnected predator-prey relationships.
